About House of the Dead
House of the Dead starts in 1996 with Rogan and G against Curien in the mansion. House of the Dead 2 from 1998 moves to Venice with Goldman’s plan, while 3 from 2002 jumps years later with Lisa Rogan and G. Each run uses light gun branches with rescues that shift the path.
4 from 2005 returns with James and Kate into the outbreak source, Scarlet Dawn from 2018 continues the arcade line, and the 2022 remake of the original adds modern aim. Typing of the Dead spinoffs reuse the same rails as typing lessons and fit anywhere as extras.
Good to know
Play in release order for the outbreak timeline. The 2nd game assumes Curien fall seen, while 3 jumps ahead and needs the gap. The 2022 remake can be the start for new players instead of hunting arcade boards. Typing spinoffs suit sampling after the main rails. No new mainline game had been dated as of September 2026.
