About BioShock
BioShock tells standalone stories in the same design tradition across three games plus DLC. BioShock from 2007 explores Rapture with Jack, BioShock 2 from 2010 returns as a Big Daddy with the Minerva's Den expansion, and Infinite from 2013 moves to Columbia with Booker and Elizabeth.
The Burial at Sea two-parter from 2013 to 2014 ties Infinite back to Rapture as its coda. A Netflix film adaptation is in development with no date, and Ken Levine's Judas is a separate game rather than BioShock 4, so the trilogy plus DLC remains the full playable set.
Good to know
Play in release order, since Infinite recontextualizes Rapture and lands harder with both earlier games fresh. Minerva's Den is the best DLC of the set and worth playing before Infinite. Burial at Sea closes the loop between the cities, so save it for last, and treat the Netflix film as a future extra with no date attached.
