About Hyperdimension Neptunia
Hyperdimension Neptunia from Idea Factory and Compile Heart launched August 19, 2010 on PS3 as a parody of the console war, with goddesses for each platform in Gamindustri. Mk2 followed in 2011 with Nepgear, Victory in 2012 closed the PS3 trilogy and VII arrived in 2015 as the PS4 mainline entry.
Re;Birth 1 to 3 on Vita and PC remake the first three with VII systems and are the versions to play now. Spinoffs like Action game in 2015 and Sisters vs Sisters in 2023 are side stories. Neptunia Unlimited was announced March 2026 for August 27, 2026 as the first mainline entry in over ten years.
Good to know
Play Re;Birth 1, Re;Birth 2, Re;Birth 3, then VII for the core story with modern systems. The original 2010 PS3 release is outdated and skippable once you own the remake. Spinoffs can be played any time after Victory since they reuse characters without moving the plot. The anime from 2013 adapts the games loosely. Expect short dungeons, visual novel dialogue and heavy item crafting between chapters.
