About L.A. Noire

L.A. Noire follows detective Cole Phelps rising through patrol, traffic, homicide, vice and arson in 1940s Los Angeles with face reading interrogations. The 2011 base game runs 21 cases that must be played desk by desk for ranks, outfits and story to make sense.

DLC cases like the Naked City and A Slip of the Tongue slot inside those desks with new streets. The 2017 remaster for PS4, Xbox One and Switch bundles all DLC with new camera controls and cases, so it replaces the original as the version to play.

Good to know

Play desks in release order from patrol to arson, slotting DLC where the desk matches its year. The remaster includes everything in one pack, so pick it over the 2011 disc for modern play. The VR Case Files adapt seven cases separately and work as optional after the main run with no plot cost as of this check.
