Live A Live starts with the 1994 Super Famicom original spanning seven chapters from Prehistory to the Distant Future. Each chapter plays a short genre story with its own cast and systems.
The HD-2D remake arrived in 2022 retelling all seven plus the final chapter on modern platforms. Play the original or the remake first, since there is only one story. Square's seven chapter experiment. The remake replaces the original cleanly with voice work, so pick one version rather than both. Tokita built chapters from westerns to sci-fi.
