About Rain World
Rain World from 2017 drops a slugcat into a brutal ecosystem where lizards, vultures, and centipedes hunt on their own schedules. The Monk and Survivor campaigns teach the loop: eat, shelter before the rain, and read creature habits instead of fighting. Deaths pile up while the map knowledge compounds, and the Saint and Artificer paths wait for later.
Downpour from 2023 adds five slugcats with new abilities plus a huge map expansion. The Watcher from 2025 follows with a fresh campaign built for veterans. Play the base first, then Downpour, then The Watcher, since each layer assumes the survival grammar of the last.
Good to know
The difficulty is the point, so expect dozens of deaths before the first shelter rhythm clicks. Downpour's extra slugcats change movement and story. The Watcher targets experienced players, so newcomers should finish a base campaign first. Mods and remix options can soften the curve, but the intended order of base, Downpour, and Watcher stays the same.
