About RimWorld
RimWorld (2018) lands three survivors against raids and hunger, opening October 17, 2018 for PC from Ludeon. Royalty (2020) adds titles from February 24, 2020. Ideology (2021) adds beliefs from July 20, 2021. Biotech (2022) adds kids and mechs from October 21, 2022. Anomaly (2024) adds horror monolith from April 11, 2024. Odyssey (2025) adds gravship travel from July 11, 2025.
Each DLC stacks on the base without separate story, so order is about systems. No new expansion has been announced. Play base first, then add Royalty and Ideology once you survive a year, with Biotech and Anomaly after.
Good to know
Release order matches difficulty order, with Odyssey gravships assuming shuttle basics. Do not enable all six at once first, since Ideology rituals plus Biotech genes overwhelm new colonies. The base runs best with Crashlanded start before Rich Explorer. Treat Odyssey as latest released, with Ludeon active and no next DLC dated.
