About Silent Hill
Silent Hill tells standalone horror stories in the same foggy town, so entry order is flexible after the core run. The Team Silent originals arrived as Silent Hill (1999), Silent Hill 2 (2001), Silent Hill 3 (2003) and The Room (2004), with Origins and Shattered Memories reworking the first game.
The Bloober remake of Silent Hill 2 launched in 2024 as the modern entry point, and Silent Hill f arrived September 25, 2025 as a 1960s Japan story. Townfall, Ascension and the Return to Silent Hill film continue the revival with Silent Hill f already out and Townfall still dated as upcoming.
Good to know
Start with Silent Hill 2, either the 2001 original or the 2024 remake, since it is the most self-contained and the fan consensus pick. Silent Hill 1 and 3 form a direct pair about Alessa, while the rest stand alone. Silent Hill f needs no prior games because its 1960s Japan setting is new, which makes it a fine second stop.
