About Wargroove
Wargroove is Chucklefish's Advance Wars style tactics series about warring factions and commanders with active groove powers. The 2019 original sets up Queen Mercia and the Cherrystone defense, the free Double Trouble DLC adds a co-op outlaw campaign, and Wargroove 2 from 2023 jumps a generation forward.
Play in release order. The sequel is standalone by design, but the returning factions and the new Roguer and Faerie units land better once you know the original commanders and the Double Trouble outlaws.
Good to know
Release order matches story order, with Double Trouble slotting between the two main games, so no alternate chronology is listed. Double Trouble is free DLC rather than a separate purchase on most platforms, so grab it before starting the sequel campaign. No third game has been announced as of 2026, with the teams moved on to other projects.
