About Wii Sports
Wii Sports (2006) sold motion controls to the world: tennis, bowling, golf, baseball and boxing in one pack-in that defined the Wii. Resort (2009) added MotionPlus precision with swordplay and archery, Club (2014) brought HD online tennis and bowling to Wii U, and Switch Sports (2022) rebooted the formula with volleyball and leg-strap soccer.
Release order is the hardware story: each entry matches its controller generation. Every game stands alone as a party box, so start with whichever hardware you own. Bowling is the throughline masterpiece across all four. Switch Sports keeps receiving sport updates, with basketball among the additions.

Wii Sports Club's online servers wound down with the Wii U network, so its online modes are history: offline play remains. Switch Sports launched content-light like its predecessors and grew through free updates. Resort's MotionPlus requirement means original Wii remotes need the add-on. Airplane mode in Resort is the secret best event and this guide will die on that hill. No new entry had been announced at the last check.
