Wolfenstein splits into classic id roots and the MachineGames saga that matters now. The 1992 3D original plus Return to Castle set the template, then The Old Blood from 2015 prequels The New Order from 2014 as its two-part opener.
The New Colossus from 2017 continues BJ through America with the Freedom Chronicles DLC, and Youngblood from 2019 follows his daughters in co-op as a side story. A third New Order game has been teased but not dated, so Colossus stays the saga endpoint. The dual-wielding charge through alternate history never really slows down.
Good to know
Play The Old Blood, then New Order, then New Colossus in that order, since the prequel was designed to be played first despite arriving later. The classics work as history rather than homework. Youngblood fits after Colossus as a co-op detour, and a third chapter stays yearless until MachineGames dates it.
