About WRC
WRC from 2001 starts the licensed series on PlayStation 2 with the official cars, drivers and stages of that season. WRC II Extreme from 2002 adds faster show cars, WRC 3 from 2003 refines the handling, and Rally Evolved from 2005 closes the Sony era as the biggest PS2 entry. After a quiet spell, WRC FIA World Rally Championship from 2010 reboots the license on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
WRC 5 from 2015 starts the Kylotonn era on PS4 and Xbox One, WRC 7 from 2017 tightens the stages, and WRC 9 from 2020 brings the series to PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. WRC Generations from 2022 closes the Kylotonn run, and EA Sports WRC from 2023 by Codemasters is the current latest with over seventy cars. Entries between these picks mostly update rosters, so newcomers can jump between the listed ones.
Good to know
Release order is the play order, since each game mirrors one championship season with no continuing story. Skipped yearly entries such as WRC 4, 6, 8 and 10 are roster refreshes rather than reinventions. EA paused rally development in April 2025, and Nacon has announced a full reboot for 2027, so expect this list to grow. Spin-offs like WRC Powerslide and the handheld versions sit outside the main line.
