About Aditya Chopra
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge from 1995 is the debut that never left theatres, pairing Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol across Europe and Punjab. Mohabbatein from 2000 follows with Bachchan guarding an all boys school against love, launching Uday Chopra. Both became the year's biggest hits.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi from 2008 casts Khan as a timid clerk wooing his wife in disguise, launching Anushka Sharma. Befikre from 2016 closes this directing run so far with a commitment free romance in Paris. Chopra directs only what he writes, which explains the eight year gaps between films.
Good to know
The four romances share themes but no plot, so release order shows the style loosening best. Start with DDLJ for the landmark, then Mohabbatein for the school epic. Rab Ne plays as the gentlest entry. Befikre is the outlier in tone, so expect a lighter Paris story rather than family drama. DDLJ runs over three hours, so give the first night room.
