About Bhool Bhulaiyaa
Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a Hindi horror comedy series built around the spirit Manjulika and rational men who stop believing in ghosts. The 2007 original by Priyadarshan stars Akshay Kumar as psychiatrist Aditya and Vidya Balan as Avni and Manjulika, adapted from Manichitrathazhu. It became a cult hit.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 from May 20, 2022 is a standalone sequel with Kartik Aaryan as Rooh Baba, Tabu and Kiara Advani. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 from November 1, 2024 brings back Aaryan with Vidya Balan in an alternate Manjulika role plus Madhuri Dixit. The sequels reuse the mansion and spirit idea with new plots.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order for Bhool Bhulaiyaa worth listing, since parts two and three are spiritual sequels rather than continuations. The characters, mansion and even Manjulika restart each time. Release order works best because the comedy and effects scale up. Start with 2007 for the classic or 2022 for the modern entry point.
