About Bhoot
Bhoot follows Mumbai families and sailors facing vengeful spirits, starting with the 2003 original where a couple moves into a haunted high rise with their son. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the first film reset Hindi horror with surveillance style scares and a famous lift sequence. The run continues with the 2012 Returns and the 2020 Haunted Ship.
The three films share no continuing characters, working as standalone hauntings under one banner. The closing entry shifts from flats to the high seas while keeping the grim tone. Three films across seventeen years make it a loose but notable Hindi horror run. Watch the films in release order.
Good to know
Watch the three films in release order, since each haunting stands alone with no shared characters to track. The 2003 original is the essential one, with the lift scene still the series signature scare. Returns and Haunted Ship work as follow ups in tone only. No fourth film has released, so the three form the complete run. Expect self contained stories throughout.
