About Celine Song
Past Lives debuted at Sundance 2023 with Nora and Hae Sung reuniting after decades, earning Oscar nominations for Picture and Screenplay. Materialists opened June 13, 2025 through A24 with Dakota Johnson as matchmaker Lucy torn between Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans.
Song is attached to write a My Best Friend's Wedding sequel for Sony and develop the HBO e-sports drama Damage, neither as director with dates. No third directed feature was dated as of this check. Watch Past Lives first, then Materialists. Each has a new cast and city.
Good to know
These are standalone stories with no shared continuity, so there is no chronological order to untangle. Release order shows the dialogue-driven style hold across indie and studio budgets. Do not slot the Wedding sequel or Damage series here, Song writes those without directing. The list ends at two until Song dates a third feature as director.
