About Critters
Critters follows the Crites, hairball aliens devouring everything in the small town of Grover's Bend while bounty hunters chase them. The four film run from 1986 to 1992 tracks the Brown family from Kansas to space, with the 2019 film Attack! rebooting the premise and the Shudder series New Binge telling its own story.
Watch the original four in release order, then treat Attack! and New Binge as separate. The first four form one continuous tale with returning faces, while the 2019 entries restart with new casts. Release order keeps the Brown family arc intact from the farm to the station.
Good to know
Charlie McFadden bridges the original run, appearing across the films as the town drunk turned hunter. Attack! brings back Dee Wallace in a renamed role rather than continuing the Brown story, and New Binge was made explicitly as a reboot for Shudder. No further sequel or season has been announced since 2019.
