About Darkman
Darkman follows scientist Peyton Westlake, burned and left for dead, who builds liquid skin masks to pose as the gangsters who ruined him. Sam Raimi directed the 1990 original with Liam Neeson, then the series continued with Arnold Vosloo in two direct to video sequels that keep the mask trick and the guilt over Julie.
Watch in release order. The Return of Durant brings back Robert Durant from the first film, and the third film closes Westlake's search for lasting skin. The sequels cost less and play simpler, but they continue one arc, so there is no reason to reorder them.
Good to know
Release order is story order, since part two revives Durant and part three pays off the skin research. Neeson only plays Westlake in the original, with Vosloo taking over for both sequels. A TV pilot was shot in the nineties but never became a series, so the three films are the complete set. No new Darkman film has entered production.
