About Edward Yang

A Confucian Confusion followed in 1994, Mahjong in 1996 and Yi Yi in 2000 about one family year, which won best director at Cannes. Yang died in 2007 with no later features. Watch in release order to follow Taipei change across decades.
Good to know
These are standalone stories with no shared continuity, so there is no chronological order to untangle. Taipei Story and Yi Yi mirror each other across fifteen years but need no linking. A Brighter Summer Day exists in a four hour cut that Yang preferred. Start with Yi Yi or Taipei Story if seven films feels like too many.
