About Flubber
Flubber started March 16, 1961 with The Absent Minded Professor about Ned Brainard inventing flying rubber at Medfield. Son of Flubber followed January 1963 with son Biff and messy football. Disney remade it November 26, 1997 as Flubber with Robin Williams as Brainard and Weebo robot.
The 1997 version retells the 1961 plot with CGI bounce and John Hughes script. Stories stand alone as same invention retold, so any order works, but release order shows effects growth. No new Flubber film has been announced since 1997, so these three are complete.
Good to know
Watch in release order for effects history from wires to CGI. The 1961 original runs 92 minutes in black and white with basketball payoff. Son of Flubber adds family chaos at 100 minutes. The Williams remake runs 93 minutes with Weebo heart. Kids can start with 1997 for color, then try originals for charm. All carry family ratings.
