About Fox and the Hound
The Fox and the Hound is Disney's hunter bond tragedy about fox Tod and hound Copper. The Fox and the Hound from July 1981 follows pups to adults split by Slade and Amos. The Fox and the Hound 2 from December 2006 rewinds to their young days with a singing band detour.
The sequel is a midquel set during part one youth with Cash and Dixie. The bear fight and fence rules hit harder if you know the adult split. Each film plays alone once you know the pair. The bear stands tallest at the end for both.
Good to know
Release order beats timeline order for a first watch, since part two assumes you know the adult tragedy. Watch the 1981 classic first for the bond rules, then part two as a youth flashback. Timeline fans can swap on rewatch, but the tears land in release. The band songs fade fast against the hunt horns.
