About Freaky Friday
Freaky Friday began with Disney's 1976 film about Ellen and Annabel swapping bodies for a day. The 1995 TV remake retold it with Shelley Long, and the 2003 version from Mark Waters paired Jamie Lee Curtis with Lindsay Lohan around the wedding rehearsal. Freakier Friday (2025) reunites Curtis and Lohan as Anna swaps with her own daughter plus a double swap.
The 2025 sequel released August 8, 2025 through Disney, continuing the 2003 family rather than rebooting. A stage musical adaptation shares songs but no continuity with the screen swaps, sitting apart as its own telling.

Watch the 1976 original first for the classic setup, then the 2003 version as the modern peak, then Freakier Friday as its direct sequel. The 1995 TV film works as an alternate telling after either version with its own cast and jokes. The 2025 sequel assumes the 2003 wedding and Anna's band history, so do not start the run there.
