About Grown Ups
Grown Ups from 2010 reunites five childhood friends with families for a lake weekend after their coach dies, with Sandler, James, Rock, Spade and Schneider leading. Grown Ups 2 from 2013 keeps the crew home for a summer party run with more neighborhood gags and family chaos.
Grown Ups 3 was announced at Netflix Upfronts in May 2026 with Kyle Newacheck directing and Sandler plus Herlihy writing the script. Production started that August in New Jersey with the core five returning plus Julie Bowen, Deon Cole and Bailee Madison joining. No release date exists as of September 2026.
Good to know
Watch the 2010 film, then the 2013 sequel in that order. The sequels reuse every family setup from the lake house, so the jokes land flat out of order for newcomers. The third film stays yearless until Netflix dates it, since the 2026 announcement gave production news but no window. Release order matches story order across the lake years.
