About Honey
Honey from December 5, 2003 follows Honey Daniels teaching Harlem kids while fighting a sleazy director, earning 65.3 million for Universal on 18 million. Honey 2 from 2011 follows Maria in the Bronx rebuilding after trouble. Honey 3: Dare to Dance from September 6, 2016 moves to Cape Town with Melea renting a theater for a hip-hop Romeo and Juliet.
Honey: Rise Up and Dance from April 2018 follows Skyler chasing a scholarship against sister Tosha. Bille Woodruff directed all four with new casts each time. No fifth film has been announced. The only link is Honey Daniels' studio name carried forward.
Good to know
There is no shared dancer across films, so watch in release order for the studio's growth. Honey 3's Cape Town setting confuses lists that file it as a reboot, but it cites Daniels' studio directly. Rise Up closes the run with a scholarship contest rather than a pro career. With Woodruff moved on, the 2018 entry remains the finale and no continuation is dated.
