About Jane Schoenbrun
Jane Schoenbrun debuted with Were All Going to the Worlds Fair in 2021 about a teen taking an online horror dare. The film grew from web series roots with Skype dread. I Saw the TV Glow followed in 2024 with two teens bound by a cancelled show called the Pink Opaque.
Both films hide trans becoming inside static and fandom but never link plot. The second runs bigger with 1990s TV love and Phoebe Bridgers. Release order shows the screen sleep idea growing from bedroom to suburb with care. Their web roots show in the Skype frames and static used throughout.
Good to know
Watch Worlds Fair before TV Glow since the dare grammar carries over well. The Fair suits a laptop night alone while Glow wants full dark focus. Both reward feeling over plot hunger. No next feature has a date yet, so the 2024 TV film stays last until one is announced. Their festival prizes confirm the rise, so give TV Glow full attention.
