About Carrie
Carrie opens with De Palma's 1976 prom massacre of telekinetic Carrie White, ending in the hand from the grave. The Rage from 1999 continues with Rachel Lang as a connected sequel to that film.
The 2002 TV film remakes the story with Carrie surviving as a backdoor pilot, and the 2013 theatrical version retells it with modern bullying. Flanagan's eight-episode Amazon miniseries from October 2026 is the latest telling. Except the Rage sequel, every version stands alone, so release order is the tour.
Good to know
Only The Rage continues the 1976 film; the 2002, 2013 and 2026 versions each restart King's novel separately. The 2002 ending was built to launch a series that never came. The 2026 miniseries runs eight episodes on Prime Video. Start with De Palma's 1976 original, since every later prom scene riffs on it.
