About Coralie Fargeat
Coralie Fargeat started with the short Reality+ in 2014, a compact science fiction piece about a brain implant that earned festival attention. Her first feature, Revenge in 2017, took the revenge formula and flipped it, following a woman left for dead in the desert who turns the hunt around. Critics praised its neon style and blunt force, and it played midnight sections at festivals worldwide.
The Substance arrived in 2024 with Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, a body horror satire about fame and aging that won best screenplay at Cannes and earned Academy Award nominations including best picture. Watch the three in release order. Each one is standalone, so the order simply shows a filmmaker scaling up the same obsessions with bigger tools.

Fargeat works slowly, with seven years between Revenge and The Substance, so expect gaps rather than a steady pipeline. Reality+ runs about twenty minutes and can be hard to find on streaming, while the two features are widely available.
