About Joe Swanberg
Joe Swanberg made Uncle Kent in 2011 about a cartoonist at forty. Drinking Buddies followed in 2013 with Wilde and Johnson at a brewery. Happy Christmas arrived in 2014 with Gerwig crashing her brother.
Digging for Fire came in 2015 with a couple splitting a weekend of temptations. The films share improv beer talk and Chicago flats but no plots link at all. Release order shows his mumble eye widening to stars without losing the hang intact. The indie roots show in the beer talk and flat light used throughout.
Good to know
Watch oldest to newest since each hang resets its flat. Kent first sets the forty base for the run. Buddies and Christmas pair as his brewery peak to give full focus. Fire closes as the marriage turn. No next feature has a date yet, so the 2015 dig film stays last until one lands. The festival love confirms the hang, so give Buddies full attention.
