About Judge Dredd
Judge Dredd from 1995 stars Sylvester Stallone as the Mega-City One lawman unmasked through most of the film, diverging hard from the 2000 AD comics. A costly flop that fans rejected for removing the helmet.
Dredd arrived in 2012 with Karl Urban never removing the helmet for a locked-block siege, and became a cult hit on home video. The two films reboot rather than continue each other. Watch either first, but the 2012 version is the faithful one and the better starting point for comics fans. Neither film launched its planned franchise, which is why the character still awaits a third attempt.
