About Jungle Book
The Jungle Book began with Disney's 1967 animated film about Mowgli leaving the pack with Baloo and Bagheera against Shere Khan. The Jungle Book 2 (2003) continues the animated run back to the village. The 1994 live-action version retells the origin with Jason Scott Lee, and the 2016 Favreau remake blends CGI animals with Neel Sethi's Mowgli.
Each version resets the pack and the tiger with no shared timeline, so every film starts clean. The 2016 remake closed its telling with the water truce, and no sequel has been announced beyond early talk, keeping it standalone.
Good to know
Watch the 1967 original first for the classic songs, then the 2016 remake as its own jungle telling. The 2003 sequel assumes the animated pair directly, so keep those together. The 1994 film works as an adventure alternate after either, with its treasure-hunter plot standing apart from the pack stories.
