About Kalki 2898 AD
Kalki 2898 AD from June 2024 mixes Mahabharata myth with a post apocalyptic state ruled from the Complex. Prabhas plays Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwatthama and Kamal Haasan plays Supreme Yaskin. The film ends with the rise of Kalki and sets a direct sequel with high walls and scarce water around Kasi.
Part 2 resumes shooting in October 2026 and targets 2028, with Prabhas, Bachchan and Haasan returning. Watch Part 1 first, then Part 2 when it releases. There is no spinoff to place between them, so release order is story order.
Good to know
This is a two part story with one released film and one filming. Part 1 runs about 180 minutes and ends on a clear to be continued beat. Director Nag Ashwin confirmed regular shoot from mid October 2026 with a wrap eyed for mid 2027 and post after that. No other films share this continuity yet, so the list stays short until Part 2 lands.
