Knocked Up from 2007 follows Ben Stone and Alison Scott after a one night stand leads to pregnancy. This Is 40 from 2012 acts as a sort of sequel following Pete and Debbie five years later with marriage and business strain. Both share the same friend circle and tone.
Watch Knocked Up then This Is 40. The second works alone but lands better if you know Pete and Debbie from the first.
