About The Lone Ranger
The Lone Ranger (1949 to 1957) ran 221 episodes of masked justice with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels setting the template. Two 1950s theatrical films continue the series, the 1966 cartoon retells it for Saturday mornings, and the 1981 Legend and 2013 Gore Verbinski films reboot it twice.
Release order is the guide: the classic series first, then each film as its own take. The 2013 film's troubled production is well documented, but its train finale has defenders. The character's radio origins predate all of this and need no listening. Every version restates the creed, so start anywhere that appeals.
