Winchester 73 from 1950 opens the Stewart western run with a rifle passing hand to hand. Bend of the River from 1952 follows the same pair through supply lines. The Naked Spur from 1953 tightens to five people and one bounty, the series peak for many.
The Man from Laramie from 1955 closes the Stewart run with a ranch siege. Men in War from 1957 shifts to Korea infantry dread. El Cid from 1961 ends this run at epic scale with Heston. Later Roman Empire entries extend it for completists. The Stewart five remain the core.
Good to know
The westerns share actors but no plot, so release order shows the landscape hardening best. Start with Winchester for the template, then Naked Spur for the peak. The Stewart five play as a set. El Cid runs three hours, so save the epic for last with room to spare. Man of the West pairs well with Naked Spur.
