About Magic Mike
Magic Mike follows Channing Tatum as stripper Mike Lane in Steven Soderbergh's Tampa scene. The first film (2012) pairs him with newcomer Adam while he plans a furniture business exit. XXL (2015) from Gregory Jacobs takes the crew to a Myrtle Beach convention. Last Dance (2023) brings Soderbergh back as a wealthy Londoner hires Mike to stage a show.
The Magic Mike Live stage show has toured since 2017 in its own continuity with rotating casts. No fourth film has been announced, with Tatum saying in press for Last Dance that the London ending closes Mike's screen story.
Good to know
Watch one through three in release order, since Nancy's daughter, the Tampa shop and Mike's London invitation all carry forward. XXL plays lighter than the first film on purpose, focusing on the road routines over the club economics. The live show shares choreography ideas with the films but tells no Mike Lane plot, so treat it as a night out rather than chapter four.
