About Police Story
Police Story follows Chan Ka Kui, a Hong Kong cop whose arrests explode into mall chases and playground fights. The 1985 original plus parts two through First Strike form one run, while Supercop pairs Chan with Michelle Yeoh, New Police Story reboots the character, and 2013 reboots him again.
Watch the original four in release order, then Supercop and Project S, then the two reboots. The first four share one Chan Ka Kui, so they run straight through. The reboots restart the badge with new pasts, which is why they go last rather than mixed in. Each film resets its villains, so order tracks stunts more than plot.
Good to know
The original run and the reboots are separate continuities, which is the whole confusion in one line. Project S follows Yeoh's officer from Supercop and can be skipped without losing Chan's arc. Stunt scale grows every film, peaking with the mall slide and the playground showdown early on. No new Police Story film has been announced, leaving the 2013 reboot as the current end.
