Robert Langdon follows symbologist Langdon through church murders and cult puzzles. The Da Vinci Code in 2006 hunts the Grail through Paris and London, Angels and Demons in 2009 races Illuminati threats through Rome, and Inferno in 2016 chases Dante clues through Florence and Venice.
Films release in Da Vinci, Angels, Inferno order while books run Angels then Da Vinci then Inferno. Watch in release order since the films set Langdon and Vetra relations that way. The Lost Symbol and Origin books never reached film, and the Peacock prequel series stays separate from the Hanks run.
Good to know
Release order works best because Angels was shot as a sequel despite being a book prequel. Watch Da Vinci first for the Grail rules before Rome ups the pace. Inferno assumes the prior chases but resets the puzzle each time, so gaps are fine. Treat the three Hanks films as the closed set, with no fourth dated and the series kept apart.
