About Scott Pilgrim
Scott Pilgrim started as Bryan Lee O'Malley comics from 2004 to 2010 about Toronto slacker Scott facing Ramona's seven evil exes. Edgar Wright's film Scott Pilgrim vs the World arrived in 2010 with Michael Cera, alongside the Ubisoft beat em up game. Netflix anime Takes Off followed in 2023 with the film cast voicing a new version where Scott vanishes early.
Scott Pilgrim EX launched March 3, 2026 from Tribute Games with an original story set after Takes Off, plus the Back in the Band DLC in August 2026. The film and anime tell the same setup two ways, so neither spoils the other, but the games play best with the characters known.
Good to know
There is no single timeline across film, anime and games, since Takes Off branches off episode 1 and EX builds from that branch. Watch the 2010 film first for the baseline, then the 2023 anime for the remix, then play the games. The 2010 short Vs the Animation is a two minute extra you can slot after the film if curious.
