About Shoojit Sircar
Shoojit Sircar directs middle cinema with a light activist touch. Yahaan from 2005 opened in Kashmir, Vicky Donor from 2012 made sperm donation a family comedy, and Madras Cafe from 2013 replayed the Sri Lanka assassination plot. Piku from 2015 put constipation and a father daughter road trip on the same map.
October from 2018 loved quietly through a coma, Gulabo Sitabo from 2020 fought over a haveli, and Sardar Udham from 2021 rebuilt Jallianwala across decades. I Want to Talk from 2024 closed the run so far. Pink was produced and written, not directed, by him. Ek Jaadugar is listed for 2027.
Good to know
Release order is the suggested path since every film stands alone. Pink belongs to Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury as director, with Sircar on script and production, so it stays out. Shoebite filmed but never escaped its legal dispute and stays out. Ek Jaadugar is listed for 2027 with no exact day and sits last. Start with Piku for the house style at its warmest.
