About Sooraj Barjatya
Maine Pyar Kiya from 1989 opens with Salman Khan as Prem winning over a strict father, setting the Rajshri template. Hum Aapke Hain Koun from 1994 expands it into a wedding epic that sold crores of tickets. Hum Saath-Saath Hain from 1999 tests a joint family with three brothers, and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon from 2003 continues the Prem run.
Vivah from 2006 slows down to an arranged engagement tested by fire, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo from 2015 returns Salman as a double role prince. Uunchai from 2022 closes this run with four friends trekking toward Everest, winning Barjatya the National Award for direction. A 2026 Prem film is dated once out.
Good to know
The Prem films share a name but no plot, so release order is the family saga best read. Start with Hum Aapke for the peak wedding epic, then Maine Pyar for the debut. Vivah plays gentlest and pairs well with Uunchai. Hum Saath runs long with songs, so plan an interval. The dated November 2026 Prem film slots at the end once released.
