Chronological Order
0 / 6 watchedStory order moves the prequel film first. Knots Landing still overlaps Dallas for most of its run, so treat those two as parallel rather than strictly sequential.
- 1 Dallas: The Early Years Prequel, set decades before the series.
- 2 Dallas (original series)
- 3 Knots Landing Runs parallel to Dallas for most of the 1980s.
- 4 Dallas: J.R. Returns
- 5 Dallas: War of the Ewings
- 6 Dallas (2012 revival) Follows the original series directly and skips the reunion films, so purists can end at item 3 plus this one.
About Dallas
Dallas followed the Ewing oil family on CBS from April 2, 1978 to May 3, 1991 across 14 seasons and 357 episodes, spinning off Knots Landing (1979 to 1993) about Gary and Val Ewing in California.
TNT revived Dallas for three seasons from June 13, 2012 to September 22, 2014 with original stars, then canceled it on October 3, 2014.
Good to know
The whole ninth season (1985 to 1986) was later written off as a dream, which is why Bobby returns alive in season 10. The 2012 revival ignores the two 1990s reunion films, so viewers can skip them without missing setup.
