About The Strangers
The Strangers from May 2008 follows a couple hunted at a vacation home. Prey at Night in March 2018 moves to a trailer park with a family. The Harlin trilogy reboots in the same universe with Chapter 1 in May 2024, Chapter 2 in September 2025 and Chapter 3 in February 2026 filmed back to back in Slovakia.
Harlin has said the trilogy is neither remake nor prequel but the same universe. Talk of a combined edit with intermission has no date. No film beyond Chapter 3 has been dated as of September 2026. Watch 1 through 5 in release order for the masked trio beats.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The original two and the new three each run forward, so release order keeps victims and reveals where intended. Chapter 3 from February 2026 closes the Harlin arc. The franchise sits dormant past the trilogy with no dated future as of September 2026.
