About The Swan Princess
The Swan Princess follows Odette and Derek through curses, weddings and kingdom threats across a long animated run. The original film premiered in 1994 from Nest Entertainment, directed by former Disney animator Richard Rich with songs and swan magic. Sequels followed from 1997 onward on video, keeping the same leads while adding quests, holidays and royal children.
All twelve films form one loose continuity where release order matches story order. Watch the 1994 original, the 1997 and 1998 follow ups, then the 2010s video entries in sequence. There is no TV series beyond the films, so the twelve movie run from 1994 to 2020 is the complete path from first curse to the later royal tales.
Good to know
Watch the 1994 original first, since it sets Odette, Derek and Rothbart clearly. The 1997 and 1998 sequels continue the marriage, so they play as direct chapters. Later video films reuse the same cast for new quests, which is why release order works best. The twelve film set rewards a straight run with no timeline tricks. Release order keeps curse beats and royal returns clear.
