About Underworld
Underworld follows Selene, a vampire Death Dealer, through five films about the war with the Lycans. The 2003 original pairs her with Michael Corvin, Evolution in 2006 continues the next night with the elders waking, and Rise of the Lycans in 2009 rewinds centuries to Lucian's rebellion with Rhona Mitra leading. Awakening in 2012 jumps twelve years to humans hunting both species, and Blood Wars in 2016 closes the current run in the Nordic covens.
Endless War from 2011 bridges the gap as animated shorts following Selene across 1890, 1967 and the present. Chronological order only moves the Lycans prequel to the front, so release order stays recommended. A sixth film has been rumored for years with no date, which keeps Blood Wars as the endpoint.
Good to know
Release order is the recommended first watch, since Rise of the Lycans assumes you know Viktor and Lucian from the first two films. Chronological order pulls that prequel first and changes nothing else. Endless War is optional connective tissue best watched between Evolution and Awakening. Blood Wars ends on a pause rather than a finale, so treat the list as complete until a sixth film gets a real date.
