About Vampire Academy
Vampire Academy from February 2014 runs 104 minutes as a theatrical take on the first novel, following Rose Hathaway guarding Lissa Dragomir at St Vladimir. It earned 15.6 million worldwide on a 30 million budget, and a Frostbite crowdfund sequel failed. The Peacock series from September 2022 runs 10 episodes as a reboot set in 1997, remixing elements from all six novels from 2007 to 2010.
The series reimagines Mia, Meredith and Tatiana rather than continuing the film cast, and it was canceled in January 2023 after one season. Release order equals story order only in the sense that the two do not connect, so either plays standalone. No new screen entry had an announcement as of September 2026.
Good to know
Treat film and series as alternates, not parts one and two, since the reboot does not continue the 2014 plot. Watch the film for a quick two hour version or the series for a ten hour remix across the book lore. The Bloodlines spinoff novels from 2011 to 2015 stay outside both screen runs. Both endings are stops rather than closes, because the film bombed and the series was cut after its first year.
