Three odd couple farces in order.

About Francis Veber Trilogy

Francis Veber pairs Gerard Depardieu as tough Lucas with Pierre Richard as unlucky Perrin across three French farces. La Chevre from December 1981 sends the duo to Mexico for a missing heir with 7 million tickets and detective swaps. Les Comperes from November 1983 has both fooled as a runaway son's father with school tricks.

Les Fugitifs from December 1986 closes with a bank hostage and daughter care on the run. The US remade each separately with no link to Paris casts. No fourth pairing was made, so the 1986 farewell stands as the close with the duo free.

Good to know

Watch Chevre then Comperes then Fugitifs in order since Lucas and Perrin trust builds directly across years. Later films assume you know the S1 Mexico rescue and paternity trick from prior farces. French slapstick plays throughout with subs and brisk pacing. Treat the three as a closed duo arc with the 1986 hostage as the final bow.
