About Bad Boys
Bad Boys pairs Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett across four films from 1995 to 2024. The Bay original and its 2003 sequel run the 90s-to-2000s Miami drug war, then Bad Boys for Life in 2020 jumps seventeen years to Armando and AMMO with new directors. Ride or Die in 2024 continues directly, clearing Captain Howard's name with the same team.
L.A.'s Finest from 2019 to 2020 spins Syd Burnett to Los Angeles for two seasons as a separate branch. Release order is story order for the films, with the series slotting after the second film in spirit but playable any time after it. No fifth film has a date, which leaves Ride or Die as the current endpoint.
Good to know
Watch the four films in release order straight through. For Life assumes the original duo aged and reintroduces through Armando, so skipping to it cold wastes the payoff. L.A.'s Finest needs only the second film seen since Syd debuts there, making it a movable extra. The seventeen-year gap between films 2 and 3 is in-story too, which keeps chronology and release aligned throughout.
