Release order and story order are the same sequence, so there is only one list. Redemption already sits in its correct story position.

About 24

Each season of 24 covers one day, hour by hour, and the show rewards watching straight through because storylines, presidents and CTU colleagues carry across years. Redemption, a two-hour film from 2008, sits between seasons 6 and 7 in both release and story order and sets up the Sangala storyline that opens season 7. Live Another Day, twelve episodes in London from 2014, is a real continuation four years later and ends with Bauer giving himself up to the Russians.

Legacy, from 2016, hands the clock to a new lead, Eric Carter, and is easy to skip if you only want Jack Bauer. The revival is still an outline. Howard Gordon told Deadline in November 2025 that Disney had not committed, and Sutherland said in December 2025 that he liked where the pitch was going.

Good to know

Disney+ counts Live Another Day as season 9, which is why some episode guides run to nine seasons of the same show. Sutherland has said publicly that he wants to close Bauer's story rather than leave it hanging, but no network has ordered anything, and a July 2026 report described the project as slow to move. Nothing has aired in the franchise since Legacy in 2016. Treat the revival entry below as a maybe until Disney signs off.
