About The Blacklist
The Blacklist ran 218 episodes from September 2013 to July 2023 on NBC, following Red Reddington with the FBI task force. Seasons run 22 to 23 parts except season 7 with 19 after a COVID stop. Redemption ran 8 parts in early 2017 from a season 3 backdoor pilot about Tom Keen and Susan Hargrave.
Watch seasons 1 through 4 part 14, then Redemption, then season 4 part 15 onward for strict interleaving, though seasons 1 to 4 then Redemption also works. Liz Keen exits after season 8, so seasons 9 and 10 center Red, Cooper and the task force. No new run had an announcement as of September 2026.
Good to know
Start with seasons 1 through 3 before touching Redemption, since the spinoff assumes you know Tom and Hargrave. Season 7 finale mixes live action with graphic novel art after the shutdown, which explains the style break. The Super Bowl Sunday slot for season 2 episode 9 does not change numbering. Redemption was canceled after one run in May 2017, so expect a closed branch rather than a second year.
