About Bridgerton

Bridgerton follows a different sibling's marriage plot each season in an alternate Regency London. Season 1 covers Daphne and Simon in 2020, season 2 follows Anthony and Kate in 2022, season 3 pairs Colin and Penelope across 2024, and season 4 adapts Benedict's masquerade romance in two parts from January 29 and February 26, 2026. Season 5 is confirmed with Francesca as the lead.

Queen Charlotte from 2023 is a six-episode prequel about the young queen and King George, plus young Lady Danbury. It slots decades before the main show in story terms but was written to be watched after season 2, since it pays off characters you already know.

Good to know

Start with Bridgerton season 1, not Queen Charlotte, even though the prequel sits earlier in time. The prequel assumes you know who the older queen and Lady Danbury are. A practical path is seasons 1 and 2, then Queen Charlotte, then seasons 3 and 4. The show is ongoing with season 5 confirmed, so expect this list to grow. Each season adapts one Julia Quinn novel and stands alone as a romance.
